Dr. William Locante of the Southern Dental Implant Center in Cordova, Tennessee is board certified as an implant dentist by the American Board of Oral Implantology, has been named a diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, is a fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and is past president of the Southern District of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), of which he is a trustee at the national level. He received his degree in dental surgery from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1986 and subsequently received extensive training in oral surgery, endodontics, and periodontology in the U.S. Navy attached to the U.S. Marine Corps. Dr. Locante has received certification in multifaceted dental implantology from Brookdale Hospital (Brooklyn, New York) and the University of New Jersey School of Medicine and Dentistry.
Dr. Locante has also served on clinical advisory boards for major dental implant companies, helped develop new techniques and dental implants, and done extensive research in bone cell and bio protein healing mechanisms.
In addition to holding extensive lecturing and teaching appointments in the U.S. and Europe, Dr. William Locante is active in numerous professional organizations, including the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, the American Academy of Osseointegration, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the Academy of Implants and Transplants, the Tennessee Dental Association, and the Memphis Dental Society.
