Digital photography is an essential skill dentists must have for patient communication, lab communication and marketing. A popular and widely accepted protocol is the 12 shot series for accreditation in American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry . While a perfectly framed and exposed photograph is not a daunting task to acquire by trial and error, the photographer benefits greatly from some specific knowledge and direction to ensure that the most accurate image is obtained. Dr. Ed Lowe demonstrates in a chair-side setting the 12 AACD accredited photographs and valuable tips on how to take them quickly and efficiently. In order to enrich your ability to analyze and critique your own images, Dr. Lowe also demonstrates bad examples of clinical photographs and comments on why they are less than ideal and how they can be improved.
