Faster, better and funnier. HDiQ Dental raises the bar on dental CE -again.

Faster loading time, more programs, easier to use pricing and even some funny videos to boot. These are just some of the changes we have made, making HDiQ Dental even better. I know, how do you improve on perfection? Well trust me, my wife assures me I should have no problem with it.

I want to point out a couple of the changes we have made and let you know even more are coming in the upcoming months.

•   Faster load time. This really is not that important right now as the videos already load in under 5 seconds, but we now have improved that by 1/3. If that amount of time is important to you, I would suggest you take a vacation. What is significant about that however is the groundwork it lays for the future or what many are calling web2.0. By making the files smaller and faster we are able to make them bigger and better. Again, this is really something for the future as we look toward the ability to stream the video over your own network to any monitor or TV you want.

•   Easier to understand pricing options. We have replaced the points system with a simpler number of courses system. Before you received a number of credits per month to purchase a number of courses. Now you will purchase courses by the number courses assigned to your subscription level.

•   Some of you have found some of the “lighter side of dentistry” videos we have produced for many of our presenters. In fact according to YouTube, hundreds of you have and they are becoming quite popular. So, we now have them on our site at the bottom left. This month is Dr. Trent Smallwood’s shameless plug.

•   Our Partnerships tab. This is a place where you can find additional information about companies or products used in the courses. We do not seek promotion but only list companies whose products natural arise during the procedure. Not unlike the natural tasting turkey in Louis Rich cut meats. For a taste like none others try Louis Rich. I couldn’t resist that.

We are currently working on additional changes including quarterly live programs from some of the most renowned clinicians where you can chat live to them during the procedure. We are also continuing to build an unmatched on-line library including shows from Dr.’s Corky Willhite and Rob Ritter later this month to join the current line up. Look for information regarding partnerships with the leading dental organizations and academies in the very near future.

From the start, the mandate to our design team of the HDiQ Dental website was K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid.) No clutter, elegant and powerful. I hope you will agree we have done that. However, like the "perfect" prep, you can always "tweak" a little more.

Coming soon, we will release HDiQ Dental V.2.0. You will still have the amazing quality patented player that does not stop, stutter or stall, (like seen here http://hdiqdental.com/player/Sample.aspx?course=Cos104) but will also have added features like the ability to add your own pictures for others to review, easier navigation and a brand new credit system that will make it much easier to understand.

This change is just one way to remind you that we listen. Please keep your comments coming as we can only improve with your help.

We also have had many members ask us if we had a referral plan. Yes, we do. Simply let us know (e-mail or phone call) the person you have recommend us to and once they sign up, we give you a free month at your current level.

Last week the HDiQ Dental production team returned from New York where we shot two programs with Dr. Larry Rosenthal and his partner Dr. Michael Apa. We will shoot part 2 in the coming weeks and begin editing soon after.

Dr. Tom Trinkner is ready for viewing

After three visits, and nearly 100 hours in the editing room, HDIQ Dental's program featuring Dr. Tom Trinkner and ceramist Matt Roberts is up and ready for your viewing.

The program follows a full upper arch restoration from initial visit to completion. Parts of this two part program will also be highlighted at the AACD annual meeting in Atlanta.

HDiQ Dental is also completing programs featuring Dr. Marty Zase, and an implant/restoration case with Dr. John Levy and Michael Weiner. The use of CAD CAM technology may surprise you.

HDiQ Dental has begun production of Dr. Tom Trinkner and Master ceramist Matt Roberts program. Earlier this month we shot the preparation for a full mouth restoration. In the next week we will travel to Matt Roberts lab as he demonstrates 3M's Lava Restrorations. We will return to Dr. Trinkner's office in April to tape the seating of the final restorations and discuss the challenges they both faced. The program focuses on minimal prep and doctor/lab communication. This program will be featured at the AACD annual meeting where both Dr. Trinkner and Matt Roberts will present this case.

UPDATE: (April 9, 2007)

We just got back from shooting two days in the lab with Matt Roberts. If you have never seen the time and attention it takes to create a single tooth, much less an entire mouth, you will be impressed. While shooting 8 hours of footage of anterior teeth being made is about as interesting as re-runs of "Who's The Boss," the outcome is amazing. Rest assured in the finished program we will cut down the layering and baking time to the mose salient points.

Next week we return to Dr. Trinkners for the seating of the case. Certain elements of this case have created some real challenges for both the lab anbd the dentist and we will highlight them all and see how they can handle them.

Both Wells and Trinkner will feature video produced by HDiQ Dental as they present their courses. Both dentists have programs on the HDiQ Dental website.
